Jakarta – Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and also Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (Ikatan Motor Indonesia – IMI), Bambang Soesatyo, declared the establishment of the Automotive Golf Community (AGC), as a platform for fellowship among automotive enthusiasts who also share a passion for golf. For the first time, the Chairman of AGC was appointed as Ahmad Sahroni, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III and also serving as the Secretary General of IMI Central.
The declaration of AGC coincided with the organization of the IMI Automotive Friendship Golf Gathering 2022, showcasing dozens of cars and motorcycles owned by IMI members at each hole. The IMI Automotive Friendship Golf Gathering 2022 tournament competed for the ‘Bambang Soesatyo Trophy’, the rotating trophy of the IMI Chairman, and the ‘Ahmad Sahroni Trophy’, the rotating trophy of the AGC Chairman. Various other attractive prizes were also offered, such as a Subaru Forester for the Hole in One winner.
Also present were officials from IMI Central, including Treasurer General Iwan One, Vice Chairman of the Organization M. Riyanto, Vice Chairman of Inter-Institutional Relations Junaidi Elvis, Vice Chairman of Promotion and Business Effendi Gunawan, Inter-Institutional Relations Deputy Erwin MP, Communication and Media Hasby Zamri, and Organization Director Nasrul Fuad.

“After successfully being held in Jakarta, the Automotive Friendship Golf Gathering event will be held regularly three times a year. The nearest event will be held in March 2023 in Bali, followed by Bandung and Solo. Thus, it can contribute to the multiplier effect on the economy of the host regions. Hopefully, from activities like this, synergy among automotive and golf enthusiasts can be built to establish joint ventures, aiming to create job opportunities and boost national economic growth,” concluded Bamsoet.
